I am an engineering manager and application developer backed by BS degree in Computer Science that specializes in iPhone/iPod Touch, Mac OS X, Linux and Web applications. I have experience with modern web application development using various frameworks, including ZendFramework, Meteor.js, Backbone.js, LESS and NVD3, as well as cross platform GUI application development using the Qt toolkit, and iOS applications using Objective C and the iOS SDK. I manage the full SDLC while adhering to the principles of a Scaled Agile Framework with Scrum of Scrums. I am proficient in a variety of programming languages, including PHP, Javascript, C/C++ and Objective C, with the ability to adapt and learn new ones easily. In my professional career, I have created and commercially released software ranging from device drivers and kernel modules in a Linux environment to Enterprise Web Applications. I am familiar with several development toolchains, including various IDEs (Atom, PHPStorm, Eclipse), server and client side web development tools (XDebug, Chrome developer tools), and embedded software development requiring cross-compilation to different hardware architectures.

As primary mobile developer, currently leads the R&D initiative for creating mobile applications for the university using the Ruby based Rhodes Framework. Enhanced the user experience in various web based tools by creating custom modules that provide authentication against the CAS central sign on system. Won “Best Presentation” at NMTIE ’08 for the implementation and demonstration of a web based solution for statewide federated identity management using OpenID. Implemented SOAP service that couples two independent and unrelated ticketing systems. Increased productivity by introducing and implementing a SVN version control system server. Tripled web application output by integrating an agile process and introducing the Zend Framework to facilitate the MVC design pattern. As Principal Web Architect and LAMP server stack administrator, modernized the hosting environment, ultimately resulting in a robust scalable platform for the deployment of dynamic web applications across a large, multiple campus university.

Increased customer base, and expanded business into Linux market by developing the Linux kernel modules and drivers for modular oscilloscope & waveform generator product line. Designed and implemented embedded web interface for the new product line of embedded Linux LAN oscilloscope products. Increased code reliability and reduced software defects through automated builds and testing and performed debugging in both the desktop and embedded environments. Implemented automated builds and provided general Linux server administration.  Moved company’s product line to include a cross-platform GUI programming by introducing the Qt4 framework.  Further widened customer base to include the Linear Accelerator market by implementing an Input/Output Controller (IOC) for the Experimental Physics Industrial Control System (EPICS) framework on the LAN oscilloscope product line.

Provided server setup and maintenance that included the standard LAMP stack (Linux, Apache web server, MySQL database and PHP).  Responsible for network and system administration, providing end users with support and providing instruction on the use of technology in K-5 education.  Accountable for creating and maintaining several web sites including: the school web site, the school intranet site, and the school cluster web site. Designed and implemented various software projects as needed. Created and implemented an annual technology plan and budget in order to obtain money allocated by the state legislature for the purchase and maintenance of technology in public schools. Spearheaded all school technology programming projects from beginning to end and gave direction on the integration of network infrastructure into new buildings and building renovations.
